Derek Martin
|
Derek Martin has worked with KMA Sports since September of 2008. Derek started his broadcasting career in high school when he worked part-time at KDSN Radio in his hometown of Denison. After graduating and receiving a degree in communications at the University of Iowa; he once again worked at KDSN Radio as Assistant Sports Director and an Account Executive. After spending a year at KDSN he moved on to KWMT in Fort Dodge and worked in both news and sports calling baseball and softball for the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond. Six months later Derek came to KMA to get back to his passion of sports broadcasting. In the past, Derek has worked and written for the Huskers Illustrated website as well as Iowa Preps.
When he’s not out broadcasting games Derek enjoys sports, sports, and more sports. Really…it’s the only thing he knows. He ranks his favorite teams in order as the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Kansas City Royals, and the Dallas Cowboys – a combination of longtime suffering and sweet championship bliss. If sports aren’t on his television then you’ll probably see The Office, WWE Monday Night Raw, or Real World/Road Rules Challenges.
